ProPak Shenzhen 2026 ran from October 13 to 15 at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (Bao’an), as the processing and packaging section of the 4th Connexion ShenZhen. We supply packaging and processing equipment to buyers in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and South Asia, so we track shows like this closely. Our clients need to know where Chinese equipment is heading before they commit budget.
This is our summary, plus practical advice for buyers planning purchases in the coming months.
The show at a glance
The organizer’s pre-show figures for the whole Connexion event were about 180,000 m² across 9 halls, 2,000+ exhibitors, an expected 120,000 trade visitors and 100+ conference sessions. Actual attendance figures have not been published yet.
Exhibits covered food processing machinery, packaging equipment, automation and robotics, packaging materials, and machine vision inspection. Conference topics included advanced manufacturing, packaging design, AI and robotics, food safety, and low-carbon compliance.
The next edition is already scheduled for October 13–15, 2027.
Three trends that matter to buyers
1. Suppliers are selling lines and systems, not single machines.
Many suppliers now present complete solutions alongside standalone packers, fillers and sealers. Examples include multi-lane stick-pack lines with collating and bagging, powder handling with dust-free packaging, and end-of-line packaging layouts. For buyers, this means you can ask one supplier for an integrated line, but you also need to manage integration risk carefully (see our advice below).
2. Vision inspection is becoming standard.
Machine vision for seal checking, label and code verification, and fill-level inspection is now mainstream rather than optional. If you export to markets with strict retail or regulatory requirements, budget for inspection now. Retrofitting it later usually costs more.
3. Food safety and compliance are driving machine design.
Hygienic design, food-contact materials and energy efficiency were recurring themes. Aseptic filling remains a strong area of interest. Buyers serving dairy, beverage or liquid food markets should expect suppliers to talk about validation, not just speed.

Specify by your product, not by the brochure.
Speed figures in catalogs are usually achieved with ideal products. Give suppliers your actual SKUs: bag or pouch dimensions, fill weight range, product characteristics (powder, granule, liquid, sticky, fragile). Then ask for the speed achievable on your product.
Ask for yield rate, changeover time and material consumption together.
A machine that runs fast but wastes film or needs an hour per changeover costs you more over time. Ask how the supplier measures yield rate, how long a format change takes and with how many operators, and the film or material consumption per unit.
Insist on a factory acceptance test (FAT) with your own samples.
Send your product and packaging material to the factory before shipment. Agree in writing on the test conditions, the run duration and the pass criteria.
Clarify who is responsible for line integration.
If a line combines machines from several makers, agree on which party handles the communication interface between machines, line-speed balancing and commissioning. Gaps here are the most common source of delays after installation.
Check the local fit of the machine.
Confirm voltage and frequency (50 Hz vs 60 Hz), the required certifications for your market, food-contact material grades (e.g. SUS304 / SUS316) and the language of the HMI and manuals.
Plan for after-sales before you sign.
Request a recommended spare parts list with prices, details of remote support (response time, language), and on-site commissioning terms. Spares ordered with the machine ship with it; spares ordered later often wait weeks.
Watch the timing.
The weeks after major autumn shows are a busy period for Chinese manufacturers, and production schedules fill up. If you plan to install in Q1 or Q2 next year, start technical discussions now so the lead time does not become your bottleneck.
How we can help
At Zhenbao Trading, we work with buyers from first specification to commissioning: matching your products to the right equipment, comparing suppliers on the same basis, arranging FAT and coordinating shipment.
If you are still choosing a supplier, our China Supplier Risk Check reviews a Chinese supplier’s background before you place an order, for USD 99.
